Structural Insulated Panels
MM&I structural insulated panels (SIPs) are made with expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation with engineered oriented strand board (OSB) laminated to the top and bottom faces which we call skins. Our SIPs begin as an 8'x 24' panel with thicknesses ranging from 4 1/2" to 12 1/4".
Insulspan is our manufacturer of choice and is the most preferred and recognized brand in the industry. Insulspan has been providing energy-efficient building systems to consumers and the construction industry for more than thirty years and the panels are recognized for all seismic zones in the US. No matter how SIPs are measured, they save energy, last longer and reduce carbon footprint when compared to stick building techniques. Considering that 40% of the world’s energy consumption is in buildings, SIPs provide considerable global energy-conserving benefits.
SIPs are available three categories:
The ready-to-assembly SIP system is the most popular, as it reduces construction time and improves efficiency. This system includes panel shop drawings, pre-cut panels with lumber pre-installed in the factory wherever possible and accessories are included in the package. Each project is specific and the client needs to refer to the written contract for details.
In addition to being an authorized Insulspan dealer, MM&I offers these services to make your SIP project flawless:
